The China doll (Radermachera sinica) is a beautiful indoor tree. It is a relatively new houseplant but has become very popular quickly. Its beautiful lush, emerald-green canopy with glossy leaves of an interesting long, bipinnate pattern is bushy from the top to the bottom. The plant remains relatively compact for indoor display. China doll tolerates the warm, dry air of heated homes. It grows fast so that a small seedling can become a very decorative, bushy plant quickly in a good size.
Care Tips
China doll prefers a well-draining potting medium with good moist-holding capacity. The plants thrive with plenty bright indirect light. Water when the top of soil is dry to the touch and not overwater the plant. Feed the plant once a month during the growing season with a balanced plant food at a half strength.
Special Care
Because China doll is a fast-growing tree, it should be pruned timely to keep the plant compact and in a good shape.
